Public information Jim Clark #Rally,2012 #Duns June 1st to 3rd

On 1st June 2012 the annual Jim Clark Memorial Rally commences in the Scottish Borders area. The Rally is run exclusively on roads normally open to the public and is the only ‘closed road’ rally currently held on the British mainland. This year will be the 42nd Jim Clark Rally event.

A ceremonial introduction of cars/drivers will take place in the Market Square, Duns from 6pm Friday 1st June 2012. The first stage will be setting off from the Market Square in Duns about 7pm,(start times are provisional and may vary). 

 

A crowd of approximately 3000 attended last year and a similar number is expected by the Rally Organisers.

The finish ramp for the Challenge (3pm), International (6pm), National (645pm ), Historic (655 pm) sections will also be in the Market Square, Duns on Saturday 2nd June 2012. The Parc Ferme servicing area for International and National sections and Rally Headquarters, will be within the grounds of Kelso Race Course.Vehicles will marshal in Berwickshire High School prior to being sent to both start and finish.

The start and finish for the Reivers section on Sunday 3rd June will be at Market Square, Duns. The start is 9am and the last finish is anticipated to be 6.30pm. The award presentation will take place at 7pm. Competitors will be marshalled in the Station Road Industrial Estate prior to being sent to the finish.
